What's On CQH Guidelines

Purpose:

What's On Central Queensland Highlands is the official event calendar for the Central Highlands region of Queensland.

It is an initiative of the Central Highlands Development Corporation (CHDC), the region's key economic and tourism development agency.

The primary purpose of the calendar is to draw an audience or attendance at events from the community and/or visitors.

Guidelines:

For events to be listed on What's On Central Queensland Highlands, the following guidelines apply:

  • The event must be held within the Central Highlands Local Government Area (LGA).
  • Commercial businesses are welcome to post events, however it is not a platform to advertise products or services offered by their business.
  • Event organisers are responsible for uploading information regarding their event.
  • It is the responsibility of the event organiser to ensure appropriate approvals are in place prior to listing their event (ie permission to use the venue, permits, approvals etc).
  • The event must be in the interests of public health and safety and in a COVID safe environment.
  • The event must be open to the general public and ideally have broad appeal to residents and visitors.
  • If the event is being delivered online, the content must be available to everyone in the area covered by the Central Highlands.
  • Event organisers must include an accurate description of the event and a good quality image.
  • The event organiser must not include wording or images that may be offensive, inappropriate or in violation of copyright laws. Images should be appropriate for the event being submitted.
  • Event details submitted must be up to date and accurate.  It is the responsibility of the event organiser to manage their event listing.

No event will be listed that:

  • Adversely affects the Central Highlands’ (including CHDC and the Central Highlands Regional Council) public image or reputation
  • Conflicts with CHDC’s values, policies or statutory responsibilities
  • Is offensive, abusive, racist; or incites public disorder or violence; or promotes misinformation
  • Does not specify a time and date and organisers contact details.

Events are reviewed, removed or added to the calendar in accordance with these guidelines and the What’s on Central Queensland Highlands team reserves the right to edit or decline any event.

Information on the calendar is shared from other sources and the owners of What’s On Central Queensland Highlands are not responsible for views or opinions expressed or errors or omissions in the information shared.

By publishing events to What’s On Central Queensland Highlands, CHDC is in no way endorsing the event.

Featured Events:

Featured events are on the landing page of What’s On Central Queensland Highlands.  These events are updated frequently, and we cannot guarantee how long an event will be featured on the calendar landing page.

The featured events are either run or sponsored by CHDC or are likely to enhance the visitor experience in Central Queensland Highlands

Whether or not an event is featured is at the sole discretion of Our What’s On Central Queensland Highlands team.

Listing your event is free and multiple event listings are welcome!

Except for any liability that cannot be excluded by law, CHDC (including its officers, employees and agents) excludes all liability for any personal injury or loss or damage (including loss of opportunity) whether direct, indirect, special or consequential, arising in any way out of the promotion and or staging of the event listed on the What's On Central Queensland Highlands site.
